Every fence we build is custom‑measured, custom‑fit, and installed by trained professionals using high quality products we have field tested for years - no subcontractors.
This is where we started.
50 years of fabricating wood fence panels. When we started, there were no "big box" stores supplying the same 2 types of wood fence panels, with their undersized stringers to everyone. There were Cypress cants (rough sawn slabs of wood, 4" thick, 8' long and as wide as the log it was cut from) that we cut down into pickets, stringers & posts.
We developed the methods of production, the installation process, paired with quality accessories, time tested in our Tampa Bay, Florida hot and humid climate.
We still manufacture our own wood fence panels in an array of styles. (but not from cants anymore) This allows us to provide you with exactly the custom wood fencing you want.
This is the second type of fencing we picked up.
In the late 1970, a guy named Dominic Pinto, was raising "big cats". He asked if we could build enclosures for tigers, panthers and ocelots. So, we contacted Merchants Metals in Tampa, and had them do the engineering and we did the installation.
After that success, we were in the chain link fencing business.
Right off the bat, Sears & Roebuck hired Fence Factory to install their chain‑link fencing during the Pinellas County home‑building boom of the 1970s. Hundreds of new homes were going up every year, and we were the crew putting chain‑link in many of those backyards. We still occasionally run across those 40‑year‑old fences in certain Clearwater and St. Petersburg neighborhoods.
In the 50+ years since, we have built multiple city parks, ball fields, tennis courts, dog parks (we built the first official dog park in Pinellas County. It's in Safety Harbor!) as well as many commercial and residential installs.
Plastic fence? Yep, plastic fence.
I think it was 1983 maybe 84, at a trade show, we saw Nebraska Plastics PVC Vinyl Fencing. They invented it in the 1940's, then went nationwide in the late 1970's.
After 10+ years of installing wood fence, we saw the benefits right away. Maintenance free, no staining, no rotting, no warping, interlocking parts with no visible fasteners, brilliant! ...we thought it would be perfect for Pinellas County fence customers.
i'll admit, at first it was a tough sell, but now... there are multiple manufactures, new colors, textures, and it's become the standard in residential privacy and picket fence.
Our pioneering insights were proven correct. We have installed a lot of PVC vinyl fencing since we first started providing "plastic fence" to the western Tampa Bay area.
In the mid 1980's we were contacted by a company called Gulf Aluminum Products.
They asked if we could install aluminum fence for some of their many projects on Clearwater Beach. We weren't licensed or insured for multi-story installation, (It's a specialty...and they charge accordingly) but we could do pools and perimeter fence. So, we added aluminum fence installation to our portfolio.
In the late 1990's we started selling our own "house brand" aluminum fence products that were manufactured by a company called Florida Extruders Ltd. That's when we learned about powder‑coating and how thermoset (baked in an oven) polyester‑epoxy resin, (the polyester holds the U-V stabilizer well and the epoxy is for structural toughness of the coating), combined with a rich colorant, provides a weather-proof, smooth powder‑coat finish.
They are gone now, but we still feature high quality aluminum fencing manufactured by, ideal aluminum and Elite Aluminum Products. (we learned the hard way to have two sources) Both are manufacturers of high quality American made aluminum fence products.
Aluminum fence is elegant, durable, and ideal for pools, waterfront homes and HOAs.
This is another of our pioneering efforts.
Once we saw SimTek Molded Fence Panels, we found it interesting. After we thoroughly investigated it, we knew it was perfect for our Tampa Bay area. American made, high‑end privacy fence with sound reduction, hurricane rated, and incredible durability. Impervious to salt water, salt air, flying golf balls, thrown rocks, bricks, etc. Although, a nine ton, 2 foot around, oak branch, dropped from 35 or so feet, straight down on it during a hurricane, will accordion a panel 10 inches into the ground...at least in north St. Pete., your ground may be harder or softer. So, it's not completely indestructible, but it's close.
SimTek molded fencing is made to last lifetimes. We knew it would be just the ticket for HOA communities and upscale properties. We did the very first SimTek Fence installation in Pinellas County.
Dr. Soe's Virginia Street Dermatology clinic in Dunedin, Florida. The 2nd SimTek fence job here was in Tarpon Springs. We did that one too. (The first install in Hillsborough County was Danielle Fence. They are a good fence company too, with a similar history. If you're on the east side of the bay, it's who we'd recommend.) We have now completed dozens of SimTek molded fence panel installations in the western Tampa Bay area.
